Job Description:

  • Drive development and execution of market access payer, IDN, guidelines, and clinical pathway scientific strategies across access decision-makers
  • Develop and execute Medical Affairs access/HCDM strategy and tactics across payer, distribution, IDN, and GPO channels
  • Provide market access scientific and pharmacoeconomic subject matter expertise to cross-functional teams
  • Participate in global gaps assessment development and provide medical market access input into Integrated Evidence Plans via IEST
  • Develop strategic resources and provide scientific and technical training
  • Lead HCDM-focused medical pharmacoeconomic materials, medical education programs, advisories, and symposia
  • Assist with scientific review, development, execution, and communication of medical affairs-sponsored or supported RWE research
  • Identify and execute strategic initiatives with HCDM-focused professional organizations
  • Create and manage approval of field materials for the Value & Access MOSL team
  • Lead the RWE plan with HEOR, oversee generation of relevant data, and train key stakeholders
  • Develop strategy for potential access/HCDM collaborative customer research
  • Monitor scientific, health economic, and payer policy developments through conferences and medical literature
  • Represent AbbVie at industry conferences and events, presenting on payer strategy and advocating for patient access
  • Serve as scientific team interface for regulatory, OEC, and Legal discussions
  • Support development of Medical Affairs resources and train Value & Access Field teams
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, divisional, legal, regulatory, and healthcare requirements

Requirements:

  • Advanced education: PhD, PharmD, PA, or NP highly preferred
  • Typically 8 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent
  • Substantial understanding of managed care required
  • Pharmacoeconomic experience preferred
  • Management and leadership experience at project level
  • Experience with strategic initiatives and issues
  • Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional environment
  • International experience is a plus
  • Experience in Eye Care or Neuroscience preferred
  • Ability to interact externally and internally to support global business strategy
  • Ability to advance RWE studies or medical affairs-directed research independently with little supervision
  • Knowledge of statistical methodology
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing RWE
  • Experience in development strategy and design of RWE protocols
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work mostly independently with limited guidance
  • Must comply with applicable corporate and divisional policies, legal and regulatory requirements
